Chalk and Ward Advertising - Christmas Party 2011

I was looking for a an ‘outdoor’ type activity as part of our companies Christmas party, or at least something active but not something that would see us all freezing! I found Rock & Rapid and saw that they had an indoor climbing centre and thought, perfect!

R&R was really easy to find and could easily accommodate our party of 20.When we arrived we were all served a lovely lasagne with garlic bread and salad, the perfect meal to provide us with the energy we soon found out we would need for the climbing later on!

We were all put into little groups and then taken through the safety talks, which were concise and clear, and gave us all the confidence to get going and get up the wall!

All the instructors and staff at R&R were fantastic, really made us feel at ease and good fun with it. The climbing itself was fantastic and we all thoroughly enjoyed it!

We have all ages in our company and the climbing suited everyone, we could do as much or as little as we wanted and when anyone needed a bit of break there was a sofa area where we could sit and have a hot chocolate and watch everyone else, so even when not climbing, we were all together and involved.

I would thoroughly recommended Rock & Rapid to anyone, great location, great staff and really good value for money, it was a great afternoon, we all went away with big smiles on our faces!

"The bunkhouse is perfect for stag/hen weekends. It is in the middle of nowhere and you really can make as much noise as you like! We had a full disco going at one point! Accommodation is basic but its location makes up for that and is perfectly located for many outdoor activities. Why spend £50+ each a night on a grotty hotel?"

We brought a group of 18 students to stay at the Bunkhouse in Dec 2011. The facilities and lay-out perfectly suited our needs. The food was excellent and the staff were extremely helpful and great with the kids. We will be using the Bunkhouse again.

'This is a great place to visit on a one off occasion or regular basis. It is especially superb for climbing as that being its speciality with a huge wall and a great bouldering cave with a training board with climbs varying difficulty to experts and beginners. The big wall has a good range of problems and grades for leads and top-ropes. Awesome paddlesport coaches and a wicked bunkhouse. I have twice now, stopped with Keith and his team at Rock & Rapid,
This last time I took 26 other members of the family with me so ages ranged from 4 to 63, Keith gave us lots of options with the rock climbing, surfing and coasteering a real hit with those that took part. It seemed that what ever we wanted to do, Rock and Rapid had the correct kit to do it with and nothing was to much trouble! we also had a car crash (nothing to do with Rock & Rapid) while there and one call to Keith and he had people picked up and sorted everything out. So over all Keith and the team will get the whole family there again next year!!

Very helpful and trained staff. Our 2 teenagers had a great few hours indoor rock climbing. We were able to watch them and take photos from the comfort of a sofa with tea/coffee/drinks and cakes on tap! Well worth a visit.
