SAFETY

It must be acknowledged that any outdoor activity carries a degree of risk.
If it didn't, the very essence of the whole experience would be diminished.

Our overriding aim is to be a distinctive and innovative provider of opportunities for personal development, discovery and challenge through safe, well organised and professionally managed courses, programmes and adventures...

...a life changing adventure for you.

Accordingly, all of our UK and Overseas adventures are established from a standpoint of prudent risk assessment and embody appropriate management systems and safety measures.

We operate under clear Health and Safety Policies and take great care to select suitably qualified and experienced leaders and instructors for all our adventures, whether you are joining us for a single day on Exmoor or four weeks in East Africa. We will ask you to complete a medical questionnaire and you will be expected to have taken all necessary advice and precautions via your GP before embarking on any adventure.

In the UK, centres are licensed by the Adventure Activities Licensing Service for Climbing, Trekking and Watersports. In turn, we run all our Overseas Adventures by similar standards. We also enjoy recognition and accreditation as an access organisation with the Institute for Outdoor Learning; the British Mountaineering Council and the Government’s "Know Before You Go" Charter for British Travellers Overseas.

All adventures are supported by appropriate communications, first-aid and other safety equipment, including a satellite phone for Overseas Adventures. There is 24 hour cover and support by our staff in the UK. Expedition insurance will give you further peace of mind with full cancellation and medical repatriation cover. All flights are to be contracted directly by the participants with WEXAS Travel Management and are protected under their Atol 2873.
