WHAT WE DO
Our overseas expeditions
Choose from our inspiring range of group expeditions. These adventures do not necessarily exclude individuals. It simply means that you will join and enjoy your experience with a group of like-minded individuals with whom you can share the memories. As with all our services, we will work with you and provide an expedition that meets your aims and needs.
In this introduction we have summarised the key features of the Overseas Adventures. Our inviting destinations are:
Peru,
Kenya,
Tanzania,
Nepal,
Borneo,
Gozo,
Corsica,
Costa Rica and
Morrocco, all offering unique and once in a life time adventures.
School Team
Our School Team Expeditions are planned to enrich the lives of every team member. They provide wonderful opportunities for the personal development and discovery of the wider world. Our dedicated leaders will support and encourage the team every step of the way, enabling each member to realise his or her potential to the full.
These adventures offer a memorable blend of fun and travel, new environments, different cultures, worthwhile projects, challenges and adventure.
For schools, the academic year lends itself very well to the summer expeditions (July/August) but we can run them in Easter or winter, from 10 days to 4 weeks. Long or short haul destinations – the choice is yours.
Project Phase
We encourage every team to include project related work within their chosen adventure. We also encourage awareness of our shared responsibilities to the communities and environments encountered along the way. All our projects are carefully chosen for their value to the local environment and community and their sustainability.
Adventure Phase
Every expedition will have its adventurous phase and activities, complementing the other elements of your experience. There are many exhilarating challenges on offer.
Qualified Expedition Leaders
We are proud of our strong team of professional and experienced leaders. We select and appoint them carefully, according to the aims, needs and resources of your team (and alongside school staff on the School Team Expeditions).
Expedition Training
We offer this as an important and integral part of all our Overseas Adventures. We run two courses throughout the pre-expedition phase, one at the beginning to ‘gel’ the team and one near the departure date to consolidate and finalise the expedition details. Over these two sessions we focus on building a cohesive team and give advice on fundraising, equipment and clothing, project work, health and fitness, basic first aid, risk assessments, code of conduct, documentation and dealing with an emergency.
Fundraising
For schools, fundraising is usually the first real challenge of the expedition, both for the individual members and the team. We offer guidance and tips throughout the expeditions ‘lifecycle’ – from the day your adventure is booked with us to the day of departure. Team members will gain a real sense of achievement as a result and develop skills in money management and budgeting.
Adult Expedition
Our Overseas Adventures are available to schools and adult groups. The challenges, opportunities and benefits are rarely different! The pre-expedition phase often can be tailored (e.g. less focused on fundraising) whilst maintaining our full range of destinations and activities, our Adult Expedition members come from al backgrounds, family, friends or work colleagues, all seeking an adventure that inspires and fulfils.
Safety and responsible travel
Every Overseas Adventure is covered by our policies on Safety and Responsible Travel.
