COSTA RICA

Enchanting people, colour and rich biodiversity...

For thrill seekers, Costa Rica will be like coming home

Beautiful white sands of the Caribbean coast, protected tropical rainforests, mangroves, mountains, volcanoes and the famous Pacific rollers - all offer superb opportunities for exploration and adventure.

Your Costa Rican Adventure draws on the rich and diverse nature of the landscape. It is a wonderful expedition destination offering a choice of project work and adventurous activities.

We offer exciting and unique opportunities in Costa Rica. On the Caribbean Coast you can aid a variety of projects including researching dolphins, conserving turtles and supporting local community initiatives. On the Pacific Coast conservation and environmental programmes are the focus.

With all these opportunities School Expedition Teams take a 'hands on' approach. Costa Ricans take a pride in their surroundings and your accommodation reflects this - clean and welcoming, you will stay in a range of rooms with families, bunk-houses, field study centres and guest houses.

Beyond your project work, we offer a full range of adventurous activities - jungle trekking, canoeing, snorkelling and SCUBA diving, surfing, white-water rafting, horse riding, mountain biking, kayaking and trekking volcanoes. These are operated in association with carefully selected, responsible providers who will work closely with your Expedition Leader. All of this is to be enjoyed amongst tropical forests, wonderful flora and fauna and the smiles of the Costa Ricans themselves.
